MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP AUDITIONS FOR THE 2012-2013 ACADEMIC YEAR
ELIGIBILITY
The music faculty grants scholarships on the basis of talent and musicianship. Accomplished high school seniors who have been accepted to Transylvania are encouraged to audition. Scholarships are designed for students who, regardless of their major, wish to take applied lessons in college and participate in a vocal or instrumental ensemble.
AWARDS
Awards range from $10,000 to $20,000 ($2,500 to $5,000 per year) and are automatically renewed, assuming that the recipient completes four semesters of applied lessons and participates in the designated ensemble eight semesters.
AUDITIONS
Performers will audition and interview with the music faculty. Auditions will include performance of two short, contrasting selections of the student’s choosing. Theory / composition applicants must submit scores and/or recordings prior to their interview. A taped audition is acceptable under approved circumstances. Optional lunch with faculty and current students and a campus tour will be available both dates.
